Romford FC will be looking for their first home league win of the season this Saturday when White Ensign visit Mayesbrook Park for an Essex Senior League fixture. Boro have won one league game at the same venue this season, however as three weeks ago goals from Christian Adu Gyamfi, Flynn Hamilton, and Kevin Musimami secured a 3-1 victory over landlords Barking.

While Romford are currently sixteenth in the league table with 14 points from 14 games, White Ensign sit 12th with 20 points but have played one game more, and the visitors come into this game off the back of a 3-1 home win over Sporting Bengal United last Saturday, on the same day that Boro were beaten 2-0 at Ilford.

Romford have recorded just one win in six Essex Senior League fixtures against White Ensign since the first meeting between the teams in 2022, and the Southend-based club did the double over Boro last season. Since then, two former Romford players – Henry Hart and Reece McGovern – have joined White Ensign, with ex-Ensign keeper Brad Davison moving the other way to join Boro during the summer.

Boro follow Saturday’s game with another home fixture on Tuesday, 25th November, when high-flying Little Oakley are the visitors. Little Oakley are currently unbeaten on their travels in the league ahead of their visit to SOUL Tower Hamlets this Saturday, and in midweek were beaten only narrowly by Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Billericay Town in a BBC Essex Senior Cup tie, so this will be a tough assignment for Boro.

Romford’s league games against Little Oakley last season both ended in away wins. While Little Oakley won 2-1 at Mayesbrook Park, Boro won the return 1-0 on a rain-sodden evening in north Essex almost exactly a year ago and will be hoping for a repeat of that result next Tuesday.
