Local Crime Summit Brings Community Together for Safer Streets
On Monday 10 November, The Havering Daily joined local residents, community groups, and police officers who all came together at Lumiere Cinema, Romford, for the Havering Crime Summit 2025.
The event was all about listening, sharing ideas, and working side by side to tackle the issues that matter most to people here in Havering. From concerns about antisocial behaviour to finding better ways to support young people, the summit gave everyone a chance to have their voice heard.
Residents heard about:
- New community projects for young people, giving them positive opportunities and safe spaces.
- Stronger support for victims of crime, making sure help is quick and easy to access.
- A commitment to keep regular conversations going between residents and local services.

Superintendent Sharon Brind, East Area BCU said:
“This summit showed the power of our community when we come together. By working hand in hand, we can build safer streets and a stronger future for everyone.”
Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of the Council, said:
“The summit was a real reminder that tackling crime isn’t just about enforcement — it’s about people coming together. By listening to residents, supporting young people, and working closely with local services, we can build safer, stronger neighbourhoods where everyone feels proud to live.”

The event began at 5pm where residents had the opportunity to visit a whole host of different partner stalls, to meet for themselves all those undertaking fantastic work across our borough.
From 6pm-presentations were given from a variety of different organisations including Youth Unity and Havering Police.
