Shodiq Fasasi, 21 (09.01.2004), of Teviot Road, Aveley in Essex has been charged with possession of a firearm, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, two counts of actual bodily harm and possessing a controlled drug following an incident in Stewart Avenue, Upminster earlier this week.

He appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 13 November and was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, 10 December.

The charges relate to the Upminster incident where a car failed to stop following a collision in Stewart Avenue, Upminster at around 16:20 on Tuesday, 11 November.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily: “A pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was treated at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. In a separate incident after the collision, a man also in his 50s, was injured by a non-police Taser. He too was treated by the London Ambulance Service. Neither him or the woman were taken to hospital.

“The 21-year-old, who is believed to be both the driver of the vehicle and the one who used the Taser, was swiftly arrested nearby on suspicion of causing injury via road traffic collision, failure to stop, grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm.”
