On Saturday, anti-knife crime campaigner Courtney Barrett, founder of Binning Knives Saves Lives, joined bereaved Havering mother Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial to donate a Daniel Baird bleed kit to the Lord Denham Public House on Dagenham Heathway.

The anti-knife crime crusaders were supported by members of the local Reform Party, who sponsored the life-saving kit. The group gathered on the Heathway to raise awareness of the importance of bleed kits and how vital they are for helping victims in emergencies.

Sue told The Havering Daily:
“I am very proud to be part of the Binning Knives Saves Lives family, as together we are doing everything we can to raise awareness of these vital life-saving Daniel Baird bleed bags. This is another bag that could potentially save a life and together we are doing everything we can to save lives. It is sad that our streets have got to this point, but it is important that we, as the community, do all we can to help each other. Thank you to Courtney for all his incredible work. It is great to work together as a team to bring support to our streets.”

Both Sue and Courtney are incredible community champions, dedicating their time and energy to tackling knife crime and ensuring more life-saving bleed kits are available across local streets.
