Sport Report 1st – 3rd November 2025

Hi, I’m Jasper, back with another sports report.

Please read on to find out about the weekend results from the Premier League and the in-form Hornchurch.

National League South:

Hornchurch 2 – 1 Torquay United

Goalscorers: H. Hearn (pen) and A. Balanta for Hornchurch, C. Dolan (pen) for Torquay

Again, apologies I couldn’t attend the Urchins match this weekend. However, unlike their local rivals Dagenham and Redbridge, who continue their run of bad form, Hornchurch secured another win.

Premier League:

1st November

Brighton & Hove Albion 3 – 0 Leeds United
(Goalscorers: D. Welbeck, D. Gomez x2)

Welbeck scores again, Gomez scores twice and shows he can also score in the league. After fans continue to query Daniel Farke’s decisions, Leeds sit 4 points above the relegation zone.

Burnley 0 – 2 Arsenal
(Goalscorers: V. Gyokeres, D Rice)

Arsenal extend their lead at the top of the table by 6 points. Since I don’t write about the cups, I wanted to say congrats to 15-year-old Max Dowman after he made history two times in a week by starting in the Carabao Cup and being substituted on in the UCL.

Crystal Palace 2 – 0 Brentford
(Goalscorers: J. Mateta, N. Collins)

Why did Mateta become the best striker after revealing what Zaha said and being picked for France? That question is a reality now.

Fulham 3 – 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers
(Goalscorers: R. Sessegnon, H. Wilson, Y. Mosquera O.G)

Wolves sacked head coach Vitor Pereira this week, with Erik ten Hag as the top candidate to replace him. Personally, I respect Erik. However, he got sacked after he failed to replace top names at Leverkusen (which is the same reason Vitor got sacked), but he has a good trophy record which people ignore.

Nottingham Forest 2 – 2 Manchester United
(Goalscorers: Forest- M. Gibbs-White, N. Savona, Man U – Casemiro, Amad Diallo)

Boss mans never cutting his hair. I previously mentioned the “United Strand” so loyal followers will know who I mean. Casemiro scores from a corner that shouldn’t have been awarded.

Tottenham Hotspur 0 – 1 Chelsea
(Goalscorer: Joao Pedro)

Chelsea had plenty of chances at the end to extend their lead. An open goal miss by new signing Gittens, who signed from Dortmund in the summer.

Liverpool 2 – 0 Aston Villa
(Goalscorers: Mo Salah, R. Gravenberch)

Liverpool get back to their winning ways. Notably, manager Unai Emery got booked so he won’t be on the touchline for their next game, he will be in the stands!

2nd November

West Ham United 3 – 1 Newcastle United
(Goalscorers: NUFC – J. Murphy, WHU: Lucas Paqueta, S. Botman (O.G),  T. Souchek)

As a Newcastle fan, bringing myself to write about this was hard, but here is my honest opinion.

Murphy scored early in a free-flowing Newcastle team. For the next 30 minutes, West Ham were dominating, ten times better than their recent form. The worst performance under Eddie Howe for the Toon, but the best performance under Nuno for the Irons.

Manchester City 3 – 1 Bournemouth
(Goalscorers: Man City – E. Haaland x2, N. O’Reilly, Bournemouth – T. Adams)

Halland keeps his amazing tally going. Rodri and Ait Nouri both got subbed on, so it looks as though they are back from their respective injuries.

3rd November

Sunderland 1 – 1 Everton
(Goalscorers Sunderland: G. Xhaka, Everton: I. Ndiaye)

An early lead by Everton, but straight after half-time the Mackems scored with Xhaka’s first goal for the club; however, a deflection changed the outcome, so I’m surprised it wasn’t marked as an own goal. But hey, I wouldn’t mess with that fan base – they’re the type of cats that don’t nip, they bite!

That’s all for this week’s football round-up — see you next week for more results, highlights, and stories from the world of football!
