Dagenham Teen One of Three Convicted After Taking Selfies at Scene of Horrific Killing.
Jaidee Bingham, 18, known by the street name Ghost, was just 16 when he and two teenage girls carried out the savage assault that left Anthony Marks, 51, dead. Bingham, of Merrielands Crescent, Dagenham, was found guilty of murder at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 30 October.
Alongside Bingham, Eymaiyah Lee Bradshaw-McKoy, 18, of Lambeth, and Mia Campos-Jorge, 19, of Tottenham, were both convicted of manslaughter by majority verdicts.
The court heard how the trio, all teenage drug runners, launched a violent attack on Mr Marks in King’s Cross in August 2024, after wrongly believing he knew who had stolen drugs belonging to their gang.
Mr Marks was first hit with a car bonnet before being chased down, stamped on and beaten with a gin bottle in what police described as a “ruthless” retribution assault.
He was found by Met Police officers at King’s Cross Station around 5.25am on Saturday, 10 August 2024, suffering horrific injuries to his face and arms. He later died in hospital on 14 September 2024.
Detectives tracked the teenagers using CCTV, phone data and social media footage, including selfies taken both before and after the killing, which placed them at the scene and showed them laughing about what they had done.
Detective Inspector Jim Barry, of the Met’s Specialist Crime North, said:
“This is a particularly callous murder that gives an insight into the ruthless brutality of county lines gangs. The ages of Bingham, Bradshaw-McKoy and Campos-Jorge are particularly shocking. But the fact that they were teenagers does not excuse their violent actions as part of a drug line that has brought fear and intimidation to London’s streets.”
The three teenagers had begun working for the county-lines drug gang on the night of Friday, 9 August, and by the early hours of the next morning, their victim lay fatally injured.
CCTV showed Mr Marks being chased from Argyle Street to Whidbourne Street, with Bradshaw-McKoy seen wielding what appeared to be a car bumper. When they caught up with him, he was repeatedly kicked and beaten with a glass bottle before a member of the public with a cricket bat intervened and chased them off.
Still bleeding heavily, Mr Marks staggered into King’s Cross Station seeking help, where he was later found by officers. His final account to police helped investigators piece together the attack that ended his life.
Over the following weeks, detectives traced the suspects to homes across London, seizing phones containing images and videos that placed them near the scene. They were also linked through messages referring to the assault.
Bingham was arrested on 4 October 2024 and charged with murder two days later. Bradshaw-McKoy and Campos-Jorge were later arrested and charged in November and December respectively.
A fourth suspect, Harry Gittins, 36, of King’s Cross, remains accused of murder. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on his case, and a further hearing will take place at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 5 November.
