Dagenham And Rainham MP Welcomes Funding Boost For The London Fire Brigade.
A Government decision to provide an extra over half a million in funding for the London Fire Brigade to improve safety has been welcomed by Margaret Mullane MP.
This is one of a number of measures being introduced as part of an £8.9 million package to cut through out-dated red tape so that British innovators can get new technologies into development and use to revolutionise public services.
Margaret told the Havering Daily: “This £535,722 extra investment for the London Fire Brigade will enable the development of an AI smartphone app to facilitate assessment of fire risks in buildings and provide personalized safety advice in real time. This will mean firefighters will be able to use AI to spot fires much faster.
Dagenham and Rainham has suffered so many damaging fires, these measures will improve our safety.”
Within the overall programme of funding there are a series of tools to help the NHS to deliver improved and more efficient services to people.
Margaret added “These proposals as well as being an important step in fire safety will also bring about vital developments to improve the NHS by adopting technological innovation, for example AI tools to help get new medicines safely approved for use sooner.
Not only will these measures bring about real improvements to services and safety, but this will be a real boost to Britain’s economy and create excellent value jobs.”
