Romford MP Andrew Rosindell Visits Vatican For Special Meeting With The Pope.
“A great honour and a privilege to meet with His Holliness, Pope Leo XIV yesterday at Vatican City, as leader of the United Kingdom Parliamentary delegation visiting Rome in advance of His Majesty The King’s state visit tomorrow. It is more important than ever that Christian nations around the world unite in faith and fellowship.“
Andrew Rosindell-the Member of Parliament for Romford, in visiting the Vatican, has brought with him greetings to His Holiness from all the people of Romford, but most especially Romford’s Roman Catholic community, represented by the Churches of St. Edward The Confessor R.C. Church, Romford; Christ The Eternal High Priest, Gidea Park; the Church of Corpus Christi, Collier Row; and St. Mary Mother of God R.C. Church, Horchurch.
This was Andrew’s third visit to Vactican City, having previously met Pope John Paul II in 1997 and Pope Benedict XVI in 2005. Although a member of the Church of England himself, Andrew has always held enormous respect for the Roman Catholic Church, its Christian values and teachings. He has long spoken up in Parliament in defence of Britain’s Christian heritage and to uphold the Christian foundation of our nation’s laws, constitution, customs and traditions.
“I was deeply honoured to be invited to meet the Holy Father in St. Peter’s Square, especially as our own King and Queen are also visiting the Pope this week. I am proud of the Roman Catholic community in Romford and Havering who enrich our town and borough with fine churches, some of the most excellent schools, amazing charitable work, as well as their determination to spread the Christian faith across our community”, said Mr Rosindell M.P.
