Event to Raise Vital Funds and Awareness for Testicular Cancer Charity DT38 Foundation, Founded in the Late Academy Star’s Memory.

A special, one-night-only screening of the powerful documentary, Premier League Stories: Dylan Tombides, will be held at Lumiere Cinema, Romford, on Friday, 7 November at 6:30 pm.

The exclusive event, organised by E13 Events, will celebrate the life of the late West Ham United Academy icon Dylan Tombides. It aims to raise vital funds for the DT38 Foundation, the charity established in his memory, and to amplify its life-saving message about testicular cancer awareness.

A host of former Hammers are scheduled to attend in support of the cause, including club legends Tony Cottee, Alan Curbishley, and Paul Konchesky.

The 60-minute documentary charts Dylan’s inspiring journey from his boyhood in Australia to achieving his dream of a first-team debut for West Ham at age 18, and his courageous three-year battle with testicular cancer before his tragic passing in 2014 at the age of just 20.

The film features rarely-seen private footage and heartfelt contributions from those who knew him best, including his mother Tracy, father Jim, and brother Taylor, alongside football figures such as Baroness Karren Brady, Mark Noble, and Mile Jedinak.

Dylan’s family, in partnership with West Ham United, launched the DT38 Foundation in 2015. The charity is dedicated to raising awareness of testicular cancer, educating on the importance of self-checking, and saving the lives of men and boys.

Tracy Tombides, Dylan’s mother and CEO of DT38, will be in attendance and shared her thoughts on the film:

“The reaction since this documentary first aired has been astonishing. There is no doubting how moved people are by Dylan’s story and I think watching this documentary really brings it home. It was our Dylan whose life journey was cut so short and it robbed us all of so many dreams, but it could have been anyone’s son, brother, grandson, nephew or friend.

“And for the first time ‘in public’, those who knew Dylan well are putting it all out there. I’m not saying it’s an easy watch, but it’s an important watch and highlights so beautifully how inspiring my son Dylan was in his short, but very exciting, life.”

The screening provides a unique opportunity for the public to see the documentary, which was co-produced by DT38 Patron David Davutovic and first shown on Sky Sports and TNT Sports in 2024. It is not currently available on any UK streaming platforms.

All funds raised from the show will go directly to the DT38 Foundation, which relies entirely on events and public donations to continue its critical work.
