Romford Market Bursts Into Colour For Amazing Diwali Celebrations.
Romford Market came alive yesterday with the sights, sounds, and flavours of India as the community gathered to celebrate Diwali — one of the most special days in the Hindu and Sikh calendar, marking the return of Lord Rama.
The market was filled with incredible traditional Indian dancing, vibrant music, and the irresistible aroma of authentic Indian street food, giving visitors a true taste of Indian culture. Stalls showcased beautiful handcrafted shoes, bags, and even live glass-blowing displays, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The celebration was organised by the Havering Asian Social Welfare Association — led by the amazing Manjit, alongside Julie Frost from Romford BID, Havering Changing, and Clarion Futures.
Special guests included the outstanding Mayor of Havering, Councillor Sue Ospreay, and Leader of the Council, Councillor Ray Morgon, who both joined residents to enjoy the day’s festivities.
It was a truly heartwarming community event that brought people together in joy and celebration.
