Officers from Havering, Barking & Dagenham, and Redbridge have been recognised for their courage and dedication to duty at a special Commendation Ceremony held on Wednesday 15 October.

The event, led by Borough Commander Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell, celebrated the remarkable work of local police officers and staff who go above and beyond to keep the public safe.

“Today is our Commendation Ceremony for officers from Havering, Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge. These days are always very special to me, and I hope, our officers and staff,” said Chief Superintendent Bell. “It is lovely for friends, family and local partners to share in these celebrations and to hear some of the outstanding work and dedication to duty, along with some inspiring examples of bravery by police officers. I am extremely proud of all our people who work to keep people safe across East Area Borough Command Unit and also very grateful for the continued support we get from our community and partners.”

The ceremony saw numerous officers commended for acts of bravery, quick-thinking, and exceptional service, often stepping into dangerous situations that the public rarely see.

Chief Superintendent Bell added that the event was an opportunity to shine a light on the commitment, professionalism, and compassion shown by officers every single day.

Also present was Havering’s Mayor Councillor Sue Ospreay and Deputy Lieutenant Nick Bracken OBE.

Wednesday’s ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the selfless work carried out by those on the front line, protecting communities across east London.
