“She spoke with such passion, her patriotic belief in Britain and the true conservative principles that she spent her entire life fighting for.”

The Member of Parliament, for Romford- Andrew Rosindell MP, shares his heartwarming memories on Britain’s first lady Prime Minister.

Yesterday, marked the centenary of the birth of Margaret Thatcher — one of the finest Prime Ministers and greatest British leaders of my lifetime.

She was also one of the kindest and most compassionate human beings I have ever had the privilege to know. I first met Mrs Thatcher in 1982, at the age of sixteen, and from that day she inspired me deeply. I will always be grateful for the encouragement she gave me and for her personal support in my journey to become the Member of Parliament for Romford.

I will never stop working to uphold the values she championed: a love of freedom, a patriotic belief in Britain, and the true conservative principles she dedicated her life to defending.

yesterday, on, the 13th of October 2025, let us all remember and celebrate the life of Margaret Thatcher — and thank this great English lady for all she did in the service of our nation.

#ThankYouMrsThatcher 🇬🇧🏴

Margaret Thatcher’s divisive policies have left a legacy that many towns and communities the length and breadth of the UK are still struggling with. Their main employers were shut down with no thought for the consequences that the lack of any provision for alternative jobs would have for later generations. This caused people to feel forgotten and disenfranchised and led to a void that populist chances, like Farage, filled by using the opportunity to blame ‘foreigners’ or ‘Europe’ when the blame lay squarely at Thatcher’s door. She encouraged the ‘me first, I’m all right Jack’ and ‘greed is good’ attitudes that eventually led to the social and economic disaster of Brexit.

Thatcher shouldn’t be venerated – she belongs in the rogues gallery of political villains.

Yes, well Andrew, you weren’t born when truly great leaders did things for the good of the country, not just for their mates and donors: people like Churchill and Attlee. Thatcher is/was not fit to lace their boots.
