Yesterday, 12 October, Havering-atte-Bower held its popular annual ‘Horseman Sunday’ event.

The event is organised by Havering-atte-Bower Conservation Society and is a much loved event in the area. It celebrates the village’s equestrian tradition by hosting a special service to bless the horses and even includes special blessing for dogs.

Hymns were sung including ‘Ode to the Horse’ and special presentations of rosettes were given to horses.

The Member of Parliament for Romford-Andrew Rosindell MP was joined by Squirrels Heath Councillor Christine Vickery, and was proud to attend to help mark this community event that pays tribute to our history and the important significance of our horses.
