Havering Police Officers Join Elm Park Wombles For Community Litter Pick.
On Saturday morning the Elm Park Wombles led by the amazing community champion Shelley, embarked in a giant litter pick across their area. The team were also joined by Elm Park and St Andrew’s Safer Neighbourhood officers who came in on their day off, to join the community event.
Residents were fed up of seeing Elm Park full of litter left by lazy people and decided to take matter into their own hands and tidy the area up.
The event was very successful, as endless bags of rubbish were collected.
South Havering Inspector Connolly told the Havering Daily:
“Elm Park and St Andrews Safer neighbourhood officers were pleased to join the Wombles to clean up the neighbourhood. Working together with the community, investing in keeping our neighbourhood clean is something everyone should be proud of. Not only does it remove waste, keep our streets clean but it also encourages pride in our community.
“Officers are proud to serve the community of Havering and are working hard across areas within Elm Park and St Andrews to send a clear message to -clean up the streets.
“I would encourage residents to sign up to www.metengage.co.uk to hear about local matters. This also gives residents a direct link to their safer neighboourhood team.”
