Sport Report 21st-29th September

Hello everyone, I am Jasper, 10 years old and a Newcastle fan, bringing you my first-ever article. With that being said, here is everything you need to know about football over the weekend, both in Havering and the Premier League. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this.

Hornchurch vs. Dover

It was another day in Hornchurch, a team that stand unbeaten with three wins and two draws. Dover, meanwhile, were eighth in the league compared to Hornchurch, who were top. From the off Hornchurch were attacking, attacking, attacking. A certain number 14 (Junior) was on the floor a lot. It turned out he was injured, but he did play in both halves. Not exactly Hornchurch’s most exciting game. The referee gave a couple of calls against the Urchins late in the second half. Hornchurch subbed on Henry Hearn (who I got a picture with after the game). He made some good decisions and had a good work rate, but it wasn’t enough to get Hornchurch over the line as it ended a goalless game.

Premier League summary

Lots of big teams lost, lots of cards given out in another fantastic week of the Premier League.

Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool (2-1) Eddie Nketiah in the 97th minute sealed a win. Liverpool hate watchers, I know there are many, well they will be happy, as Liverpool lost to Crystal Palace for the second time, the first time was in the community shield.

Brentford vs. Manchester United (3-1) to the bees as Mbeumo has a lovely return.

Brighton vs. Chelsea (3-1) Back-to-back defeats and red cards for Chelsea, in a 3-1 loss.

Leeds vs. Bournemouth (2-2) Two all draw was the score in Leeds v Bournemouth, as a late equaliser from the cherries settled it.

Manchester City vs. Burnley (5-1) Esteve scores a double of own goals!

Sunderland vs. Nottingham Forest (1-0) Not much to say on this one, as the Mackems get a one to nothing win over a struggling Ange’s side. Another loss, oh dear forest.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Wolves (1-1) A very disappointing start. That’s the only way I can put it. This match against Spurs, though, was different, as the result of another extremely late equalizer sealed a draw.

Sunday now, the last day of the weekend, although 100,000 signatures might make the weekend 3 days long.

Anyway, to kick off Sunday, it’s an underperforming Aston Villa team. Who got a 3-1 win over Fulham. A disappointing day for the Cottagers, despite an early lead.

Toon next, the reigning champions of the League Cup Newcastle United, who won 4-1 in their last match in this tournament. But this time around, they lost to Arsenal, Gabriel getting stuck in as well as finding the net. It ended 2-1 to the Gunners.

West Ham vs Everton… MONDAY night FOOTBALL… NUNO [the Iron’s new coach] had his first game, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Fans can see improvement under the new coach.
