Havering Police Officers Honoured With Mayor’s Merit For Their Life Saving Work.
Three Havering police officers have been recognised by the Mayor for their outstanding life-saving efforts in Rainham.
Sergeant Basit and PCSOs Julia and Brian, all based in Rainham, were surprised with a visit from Havering’s Mayor, Councillor Sue Ospreay, who presented them with the Mayor’s Merit award. Local Beam Park residents Carol and Robert Baker, who nominated the officers, joined the presentation to thank them personally for their incredible service to the community.
The award comes after PCSOs Julia and Brian rushed to perform life-saving CPR on a pensioner in Rainham last week. The woman had collapsed, but thanks to their swift response, she recovered and is now said to be doing well.
Councillor Ospreay praised the officers for their dedication, while local residents expressed heartfelt thanks for the difference they made during such a critical moment.
The officers were also commended by their senior leaders, South Havering Inspector Mark Connolly and Chief Inspector Routley, who both said they were extremely proud of the team.
Known and respected across their neighbourhood, Sergeant Basit, PCSO Julia and PCSO Brian continue to be praised for their commitment to keeping the Rainham community safe.
