Rainham Leisure Centre Hosts Free Community Open Day This Weekend.

Local residents are being invited to enjoy a free day of fun and fitness as Rainham Leisure Centre throws open its doors for a special community open day on Saturday 20 September.

The event, which will run from 8am to 3pm, is completely free and promises something for all ages – from gym-goers eager to try the latest equipment to families looking for an active day out together. 

Visitors can enjoy free access to the 75-station gym, take part in strength and endurance challenges, join in with aerobics classes, or head to the pool for both public and family swimming sessions.

Opened in 2023, Rainham Leisure Centre is one of the newest and most modern facilities in the borough. It boasts a state-of-the-art gym, group fitness and group cycling studios, and a 25-metre, six-lane swimming pool. 

The centre, which is managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Havering Council, welcomes around 20,000 visitors every month.

Tom Fletcher, Area Contract Manager at Everyone Active, said: “With the new school term underway, September is a great time to reset routines and try something new. 

“Our community open day is a brilliant opportunity for local people to come and see everything Rainham Leisure Centre has to offer. Best of all, it’s completely free to take part, so we hope families and individuals across Rainham will come along and enjoy the day.”

Councillor Gillian Ford, Deputy Leader of Havering Council and Cabinet Member for Adults and Wellbeing, said: “The Rainham Leisure Centre community open day is a fantastic way to showcase the excellent facilities on offer.

“I hope residents of all ages turn out in huge numbers and come along to support the free open day, and learn more about various ways to stay fit and active.”

All sessions are free but booking is recommended via the Everyone Active app or website, to secure your spot.
