‘Flying Our Flags Shows Pride And Patriotism’-Andrew Rosindell MP.
On Battle of Britain Day, Romford’s MP Andrew Rosindell emphasized that flying our national flags is not a symbol of racism, nor are they used to intimidate communities. Mr Rosindell told The Havering Daily: “The Union Jack and St George’s flag are symbols for all English and British people. There is no evidence anywhere in Havering that our flags are being used to threaten or harass others.”
Known for his strong patriotic stance, Mr Rosindell has long supported the visible display of flags. “We live in a free society. Displaying our national flags and showing pride and patriotism is a good thing. Yesterday was Battle of Britain Day, our forebears defended our nation’s freedom against great evil. They did so so that we can live under the protection of the Union Jack and all it represents.”
He also holds the position of Chairman of the Flags & Heraldry Committee in Parliament, where he campaigns for stronger recognition of national symbols and heritage.
Mr Rosindell believes that the values, culture, and traditions of the country should be respected. “We should not denigrate who we are,” he said, urging people to see flag-flying as a uniting rather than a dividing gesture.
