Plans Submitted to Convert Hornchurch’s Devonshire Hotel Into Flats
The future of the Devonshire Hotel in Hornchurch looks set for change as plans have been submitted to Havering Council to convert the former hotel into new housing.
Form Architecture Ltd, on behalf of applicant Donald Camilleri, has put forward a proposal to redevelop the site in Station Lane into eight flats. Six of the new homes would be created within the main hotel building, with a further two in the detached building at the rear of the property.
According to the planning documents, the development would provide a mix of one and two-bedroom units, each designed with a bathroom and an open plan kitchen-dining area.
The Devonshire Hotel, once a familiar landmark in Hornchurch, has been closed for some time.
Residents in Hornchurch will now be watching closely to see how Havering Council responds to the application, with some already raising questions about parking, local infrastructure, and the impact on Station Lane.
