Community Warning: Wicked And Cruel Suspected Poisoning Of Foxes And Cats.
Harold Hill Deer Aid, the local animal rescue group who do a truly outstanding job, are deeply concerned to report that they are experiencing an alarming rate of suspected fox poisoning in Havering and surrounding areas.
Tragically, they are now led to believe that a beautiful young cat has also lost her life as a result of this wicked cruelty.
What poisoning means:
The process of death by poisoning is horrific.
It can cause internal bleeding, seizures, respiratory failure, and extreme suffering before the animal finally passes.
No creature should ever endure such cruelty.
👉 It is illegal!!
Laying poison or poisoned bait is a criminal offence under UK law and carries legal consequences.
It does not just target foxes, any animal, including dogs, cats, birds of prey and even children, could come into contact with it.
👉 Secondary poisoning:
Even if a fox or other wild animal is the intended target, poisons remain in the body. This means that any predator, scavenger, or pet that later consumes the carcass may also suffer and die.
The chain of suffering continues far beyond the original act.
⚠️ We urge everyone to stay vigilant. If you see suspicious substances, dead wildlife, or if your pet shows sudden signs of illness (vomiting, disorientation, seizures), seek veterinary help immediately and report your concerns to the authorities.
As with any animal, if you witness any suspicious behaviour or cruelty please also report this to the authorities.
Together, we must put an end to this cruelty.
Please spread awareness and help protect both wildlife and pets.🙏
Poisoning foxes is not just evil, it is illegal. If you know of anyone you believe maybe putting poison down for animals, please contact Harold Hill Deer Aid immediately.
