Rainham Pensioner Has Chain Snatched Off His Neck By Unknown Woman.

A 77 year old man had a chain wickedly snatched off his neck by a woman who then jumped in a car with an accomplice and rode off. The callous thief robbed the pensioner on Mungo Park Road, Rainham, just before 11am yesterday morning.

It is believed the pensioner was out painting his fence when the woman, described as Eastern European, began making stupid comments, and then snatched the chain of the elderly man’s neck and escaped by jumping in a car.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police received a report of a robbery in Mungo Park Road at 10:55hrs on Tuesday, 9 September. It is alleged that a man in his 70s had his necklace snatched by a woman not known to him.

“No arrests have been made at this stage. If you have any information that will help the investigation please do contact the Met via 101, quoting 2654/9SEP.”
