VIDEO: She’s A Right Mayor! Councillor Sue Ospreay Launches The Mayor’s Merit

The Havering Daily is proud to bring you She’s A Right Mayor! – a new feature following our Mayor, Councillor Sue Ospreay, as she shares the fantastic work she is carrying out across our borough.

Havering has been fortunate to have had some truly outstanding Mayors over the years, and Councillor Ospreay certainly had big shoes to fill. But for anyone who knows Sue, they know she is not one to shy away from a challenge – and she has already made her mark as a truly fantastic Mayor.

Known affectionately as the People’s Mayor, Sue is now launching something very close to her heart: The Mayor’s Merit.

Fed up with the daily dose of doom and gloom and headlines filled with bad news, she is determined to flip the narrative and shine a spotlight on the positive stories across Havering. The Mayor’s Merit will recognise and celebrate those who go above and beyond their duty to help others – our unsung heroes who quietly make a huge difference in the community.

“I want to highlight all the good that happens here in Havering and praise the people who do so much for our borough,” Sue explained.

So, do you know a real community champion? Someone who always goes the extra mile to support others? If so, put them forward for the Mayor’s Merit. Councillor Ospreay will personally visit and surprise them with a special award – including a unique Mayor’s pin badge to mark their incredible contribution.

It’s time we recognised those who put heart and soul into making Havering such a special place to live.
