Hornchurch And Upminster MP To Host Job And Training Fair At The Queen’s Theatre.
Julia Lopez, the Member of Parliament for Hornchurch & Upminster, will host her latest jobs and training fair at Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch, on Friday 5 September from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
The event, organised in partnership with Romford Job Centre Plus, will bring together employers, training providers and support organisations from across the region. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore current vacancies, gain career advice and learn more about training and apprenticeship opportunities.
Confirmed exhibitors include BHRUT Hospitals, Care Providers’ Voice, Newham College (Rail), STC (Specialist Trade Courses), St Francis Hospice, South Essex College, DWP Disability Employment Advisors, Havering Volunteer Centre, Only A Pavement Away, London Ambulance Service and GTS Elizabeth Line.
Speaking ahead of the event, Julia said:
“This fair is about connecting local people with the opportunities they need to get into work, retrain or progress in their careers.
“At a time when the labour market is getting much more challenging thanks to the government’s Jobs Tax, I want to do as much as I can as the local MP to connect residents to great Havering employers. It has been incredibly rewarding in recent years to see local businesses find their next brilliant team member and I hope we can see many more of those opportunities open for people in September.”
The fair will be the 11th which Mrs Lopez has hosted, the last being held in February which was the busiest ever, seeing well over 200 attendees and 20 employers.
Attendance is free and no booking is required.
