Youth Unity CIC is delivering a series of free, community-based youth engagement sessions throughout the summer holidays across Havering. The programme aims to create safe, welcoming environments where young people can connect, have fun, and take part in positive activities.

The sessions take place in three key locations:

  • Mondays: Central Park, Harold Hill (near the basketball court), from 2pm to 4.30pm– SPORTS!
  • Thursdays: Next to Santander, South Street, Romford, from 4pm to 6.30pm
  • Fridays: Hilldene Shops, Farnham Road, Harold Hill, from 4pm to 6.30pm

The Monday and Friday sessions are funded through the Clear, Hold, build strategy by the Metropolitan Police, while the Thursday sessions are supported by the Safer Neighbourhood team at Havering Council.

Each session includes a mix of informal sports, music, gaming (including Xbox and PlayStation), arts and crafts, and mentoring from experienced youth workers. The aim is to offer young people a consistent and trusted presence in the community, providing not only recreation but also early intervention, guidance, and a safe space to talk.

Youth Unity’s work in the borough continues to grow through partnerships with both local authority teams and grassroots organisations. Their summer programme is a direct response to ongoing concerns about youth safety and lack of accessible activities in some areas of Havering.

The sessions are open to all young people, with no cost and no registration required, just show up and get involved.
