They Called To Defund The Police, They Called For Less Stop And Search. Here Is London Today As Figures Show Knife Crime Up By 60%.
London and Knife crime. The figures show knife crime has increased across London, not just increased but soared up by 60%.
Interestingly enough the figures also show less police officers on the street. Now-I wonder if there is a link? This is where i’d like to insert the popular emoji of a face holding its chin in.
Of course, many campaigners have said that stop and search does not work for knife crime. So, less stop and searches have subsequently taken place as officers were told by all those in the know, it does not do a thing for knife crime.
Latest figures show an increase in knife crime by 60%. Why is that? Less officers, what those wanting to defund the police wanted, less stop and search wanted. Campaigners have now got a London with less police and less stop and search, surely London should be working at a better ‘full ticketey boo’ time then? Funnily enough it does not seem to be.
On Saturday 26 July, another 14 year old boy was stabbed in Newham and remains in a critical condition. No apparent motive is know for why a child has been stabbed by a group of children. Horrendous images of two 16 year old boys holding a machete on the top deck of a bus after murdering 14 year old Kelyan Bokassa. Fourteen, a child who begged for his mum and tried desperately to protect himself with his school bag. Another mother whose life is broken into pieces and will mourn her son everyday of her life.
This is London today. A London where no one is interested in knife crime. Where people still call for the defunding of police. A London where children carry weapons bigger than than themselves. Bereaved mothers say the streets of London are full of blood with children dying on the way to school or on the way home. Parents who buy their child stab proof clothing in a desperate attempt to keep their child alive. These children have no youth anymore. The streets of London are not safe and they know it. London is now seen as lawless. Police cuts have reduced our police forces into shadows of what they once were. Officers have to visibly show to the ‘live studio audience’ the knives and weapons they have removed to the public, normally with huge gasps as another machete is brandished in front of them. Yes, this is London. London where no one bats an eye at knife crime. ‘Road closed? Must be another stabbing’ as the public walk away not interested. Yet, what remains is another family, who in a matter of seconds have lost a son or daughter who has died on our streets.
Bereaved mothers have begged for years and years to stop these horrendous crimes from taking place on our streets. Campaigners such as Courtney Barrett from Binning Knives Saves Lives, have literally walked the streets of London to remove knives from our streets. But who cares? No one, except the communities and police who do the best they can against all odds.
Here we have another child, 14 years old, year 9 at school in a life threatening condition in London, stabbed by a group of 14-17 year olds. This is London now. So keep calling on the defunding of the police and keep objecting to stop and search and lets see how knife crimes go next year.
