Sport gives us a powerful way to connect with young people. Through initiatives like United in Football and Basketball we’re not just reducing crime and anti social behaviour, but we’re building trust, opening doors to opportunity and showing them there is a better path forward. Every session is free to young people across Havering and beyond. We look forward to seeing you there!”Chief Inspector Routley

Havering Police will be running their fantastic project ‘United in Football and Basketball’ throughout the school holidays this summer.

Please see news below from Havering Police:

Our very successful United in Football and Basketball project returns this summer for the school holidays

Introduced as part of the “Our Harold Hill – Clear Hold Build” project, this youth diversion initiative seeks to deter youths away from becoming involved in crime and anti social behaviour. Starting in 2023 with just a few basketball sessions, we have grown this initiative to include football and also branch out to cover all areas of Havering. Working in collaboration with Havering Council we have secured funding to run these sessions through every school holiday in 2025 (via a Sports England grant)

To date we have had over 2000 children attend our sessions and we now average between 40 and 80 kids per event

We are also pleased to say that we are now working alongside West Ham United FC Foundation and their Kicks Programme and have incorporated two sessions with them as part of the summer programme

All dates are FREE to youths across Havering and beyond
