Harold Hill Shoplifter Caught Red-Handed By Police Officers Jailed For 14 Weeks
Quick work by police officers in Harold Hill has seen a shoplifter ‘banged up’ for 14 weeks after being caught red-handed with over £500 worth of goods.
Police were called just after 2pm on Monday, 7 July to reports of shoplifting in progress at a store on Camborne Avenue, Harold Hill.
They attended the location and stopped a woman nearby. On further investigation, the woman was found to have a number of items stolen from a nearby store. Whilst on scene officers identified her for a further 3 offences from the same location. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Shannah Everitt, of Bridgewater Walk, Romford was charged for all four shoplifting offences and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates the following day, where she pleaded guilty. She was handed a 14 weeks custodial sentence.
Havering’s A/Chief Inspector Charlie Routley said
“This sentencing is a positive result for local shops in Harold Hill. Shannah Everitt continued her offending by returning to the same shop and repeatedly stealing items ranging from confectionary, drinks and medicines with an estimated value of over £500.
We are committed to putting offenders before the courts and forms part of our ongoing Clear Hold Build initiative in Harold Hill where we work closely with the business community to reduce crime and anti social behaviour. We will continue to apprehend offenders who target high streets and town centres.”
