Havering and Redbridge Conservative GLA Assembly Member Keith Prince has been working on the refurbishment of Gallows Corner for many years. However, now that work has finally begun, the closure of the junction has caused chaos across the area and Mr Prince is aware that “with both Transport for London (TfL) and the construction company, there seems to be a general unwillingness to go the extra mile,”.

Mr Prince told the Havering Daily:

“I have been pushing for progress on Gallows Corner ever since I became a London Assembly Member in May 2016, so it is positive that on Monday work finally began on refurbishing the flyover.

However, in spite of numerous meetings with both Transport for London (TfL) and the construction company, there seems to be a general unwillingness to go the extra mile. Not enough has been done to ensure access for disabled and less mobile people. Meanwhile businesses continue to have major difficulties with deliveries.

The good news is that there are some quick and easy solutions, which would drastically improve the situation. I will be having more meetings with both TfL and the contractors and will do all I can to make them see sense and put in the changes we need.”
