St Alban’s Baby And Toddler Group Celebrate Volunteers Week.
Volunteers’ Week returned last week after reaching its 40th anniversary last year. From 2 to 8 June 2025, St Alban’s Baby & Toddler CIC joined thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.
Running every year since 1984, the week provides a crucial opportunity to thank volunteers and recognise the value of their time, passion and skills. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK. This Volunteers’ Week St Alban’s Baby & Toddler CIC have celebrated their 8 volunteers, by having a celebration lunch, volunteers received gifts and certificates and the hall was decorated with bunting and balloons to make the week special. They also had a special visit from the Bishop of Brentwood – Rt Rev Alan Williams who thanked all the Staff and Volunteers for their hard work and their contribution to the community.
Maria White, Director at St Alban’s Baby & Toddler CIC said: “Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate and recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. Thanks to them, the local community has benefited from a high quality community group for families with children under 5. The volunteers help set up all the equipment, keep everyone safe and assist the families that attend, always with a smiling face. We are a non-profit organisation so without their help none of this would be possible.”
One of their volunteers spoke about the importance of volunteering and just what it means to them:
“It’s such a lovely environment and community. As well as meeting so many different people, this gave me a great opportunity to boost my confidence. It’s been a lifeline for me since it opened.”
The UK Volunteering Forum said: “Volunteers bring a richness to organisations across the country. There is no better time to recognise the diversity of our volunteers and celebrate the difference that volunteering makes than during Volunteers’ Week. Without volunteers many charities just simply could not function, with so many people giving up their time and going above and beyond. The week is a chance for all of us to show just how vital they are to charities and communities everywhere.”
