New Wombles Litter Picking Group Launched To Tidy Up Marshalls And Rise Park.
Inspired by the Romford Town and Harold Wood Wombles, a new volunteer litter-picking group, the Marshalls and Rise Park Wombles, has officially launched with the mission of keeping local streets, parks, and green spaces clean in the Marshalls and Rise Park Ward.
The Marshalls and Rise Park Wombles aim to make litter-picking fun, social, and impactful. The group will meet regularly to tackle litter hot spots and increase civic pride.
“Like the original Wombles, we believe in leaving our community a little tidier than we found it. We’re not just picking up litter – we’re inspiring a culture of care and responsibility.”
The launch event will be held on Saturday 14th June at 10.00. Meeting outside Lou’s Barber Shop (205 Rise Park Parade, Eastern Ave E, Romford RM1 4NT).
The group welcomes anyone who wants to get involved, whether for a single session or as a regular volunteer. Litter pickers, bags, and safety equipment are provided, and all ages and abilities are encouraged to join in.
