Residents living on the Orchard Village estate in Rainham have been left shocked and angered by yesterday’s incident that saw a 17 year old boy stabbed in the thigh and rushed by air ambulance to hospital. Residents awoke to the sounds of ‘help’ coming from the youth who had just been stabbed. One man rushed to the scene immediately and began doing his best to stop the bleeding, as other residents stood and watched in horror.

Locals living on the Orhcard Village estate, expressed their anger at the anti social behaviour going on across the area. They also expressed a sense of fear for their own children being raised there.

Two youths stood by the police cordon and watched in sadness, telling the Havering Daily: “We are fed up with this f***ing estate. Why can’t people fight with their fists any more!”

The Member of Parliament for Rainham-Margaret Mullane told the Havering Daily:

My thoughts are with the 17 year old injured during the incident on Orchard Village yesterday morning. I condemn all acts of violence, and for this to happen a few days after Knife Crime Awareness Week shows just how urgent the situation in London is. I will be liaising with the police on this and urge any residents with information to come forward.

Local ward councillors Trevor McKeever and Matt Stanton told the Havering Daily:

“We are aware of the unfortunate incident this morning on Orchard Village in which a young person was injured. Our thought are with all those affected at this time. We would ask that anyone with any information regarding this, or any other criminal activity, contact the police, or Crimestoppers to report anonymously.”
