Police Secure Closure Order Of Ilford Property To Safeguard Vulnerable Women.
On Tuesday, 15 April local police officers attended two addresses in High Road, Ilford, along with Redbridge Council, following complaints about persistent anti-social behaviour.
One address identified as being used for suspected illegal sexual activity. Officers located two women within the premises and ensured they were provided with safeguarding advice following completion of enquiries.
A Closure Notice was placed on the premises on Thursday, 24 April and the Closure Order was granted and enforced the following day. This order excludes anyone from entering the premises for one month.
Sergeant Stacey-May Laslett, from Ilford’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Safeguarding women is a priority and we will always act quickly on information shared with police. We know anti-social behaviour is concerning for the community and can cause distress to local residents, so we will take action and work with the local authority to make our community feel safe.”
Anyone with information in connection with crime or anti-social behaviour, is asked to provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org.
