Romford District Scouts proudly paraded through Collier Row on Sunday 27th April to celebrate their annual St George’s Day Parade.

St George is not only the Patron Saint of England but also the Patron Saint of Scouting, and across the country, thousands of Scouts took part in celebrations.

The parade began at 2.30pm from Clockhouse Lane (outside Clockhouse School), went around the roundabout and down Collier Row Road past the library, before finishing at Corpus Christi Church.

Spectators lined the route to cheer on the Scouts, with over 700 members taking part. Temporary road closures were in place as the parade moved along, managed by Police and road marshals to minimise disruption.

Some kind business owners chose to stop delivery orders while the parade was on, in order to ensure no delivery drivers were trying to access the area.

Fortunately, the sun made an appearance, helping to make the event a joyful celebration for all involved.
