Man seen collecting pigeons in viral video is a licensed pigeon fancier, not involved in wrongdoing
A recent video showing a man collecting pigeons and placing them into a box on the back of his motorbike has sparked concern online.
It has now been clarified that the individual in the footage is a licensed pigeon fancier and a member of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association (RPRA). In a direct message exchange, he explained that he was collecting racing pigeons that had been reported as strays.
The gentleman stated that he was working to help return the pigeons to their rightful owners. After gathering the birds in an approved pigeon transport box, within the bike box, he reported them to the RPRA, who assist in reuniting lost racing pigeons with their owners. He also provided proof of his report to the RPRA to verify his account.
He’s actions were in accordance with proper pigeon racing practices and were undertaken with the welfare of the birds in mind.
