The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Gerry O’Sullivan, held his 5k charity fun run yesterday, bringing together hundreds of participants of all ages and abilities for a fantastic cause.

The event, which took place under bright spring skies, was organised to raise vital funds for the Mayor’s two chosen charities: Havering Mind, which supports local people with their mental health, and the Havering Association for People with Disabilities (H.A.D.), which provides a range of services and activities for disabled individuals and their carers.

There was a great community spirit throughout the day as runners, joggers and walkers made their way along the route, cheered on by volunteers and supporters.

Mayor O’Sullivan praised the dedication of everyone involved and highlighted the importance of supporting local organisations.

He said he was particularly grateful to Ciaran White and the team at Havering Mind, as well as the volunteers who gave up their time to marshal the run and help make the event such a success.

Both Havering Mind and H.A.D. rely heavily on local fundraising to continue their work, and today’s fun run is set to provide a welcome boost to their services, which benefit many across the borough.
