Harold Hill Schoolgirl Molly Collects Hundreds Of Easter Eggs For Queen’s Hospital To Make People Smile.
Twelve-year-old Molly from Harold Hill is proving that age is no barrier when it comes to spreading kindness. The compassionate Year 7 student has collected hundreds of Easter eggs to donate to Queen’s Hospital in Romford, all to help bring smiles to young patients’ faces.

Molly, a pupil at a local secondary school in Harold Hill, has quickly become a shining example of community spirit and selflessness. Inspired by a personal experience involving her younger cousin, Molly’s mission began with a heartfelt desire to give back to the hospital that once offered her a simple yet meaningful gesture.
“When my cousin was born premature, I went to visit but wasn’t allowed in the unit because I was too young,” Molly explained. “Instead, the nurses came out and gave me some chocolates. It made me smile, and I’ve never forgotten that. I wanted to do something to help other children feel happy like I did.”
Determined to make a difference, Molly approached her school with the idea of collecting Easter eggs. After being advised to email her Head of Year, she was then invited to give a special presentation to the school’s staff, explaining her touching motivation behind the campaign.

Her courage and sincerity shone through, and the response was overwhelming. Staff alone donated over 60 Easter eggs, with many more arriving from the local community. As word spread, donations flooded in, and Molly soon reached hundreds of Easter eggs.
On Tuesday, 15 April, Molly personally delivered the eggs to Queen’s Hospital. She was warmly welcomed and had the opportunity to visit the Tropical Lagoon ward, where her infectious smile and generous spirit brightened the day for many of the young patients.
Molly’s mum told the Havering Daily: “We are beyond proud of her. She’s always been someone who thinks about others, and seeing her efforts recognised like this is truly special.”
Her efforts didn’t stop with just the Easter eggs—Molly is also fundraising to continue supporting local children and hospital units throughout the year.
This act of generosity from a 12-year-old serves as a powerful reminder of the impact young people can have when they’re inspired and supported.
At a time when the world often feels weighed down by negative headlines, Molly’s story is a beautiful example of hope, heart, and the power of a simple smile.
