Be our guest as we invite you to join us at the Brookside Theatre this Easter for our first professional Easter pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, which will run from 9th -13th April 2025.

It stars renowned panto dame, Essex’s own David Phipps-Davis, who also wrote the script – a job for which he has been nominated in this year’s Pantomime Awards for his The New Adventures of Peter Pan at the Mercury Theatre Colchester.

“I am thrilled to be doing panto at home,” says Phipps-Davis, “and in a theatre with which I have such a long-standing relationship, having appeared in many musicals and concerts here. Easter panto has become a real thing over the last few years, and we hope the people of Havering will embrace our Easter offering – as well as my fifteen costumes!”

The production also features Brookside familiar faces Chris Gannon (Avenue Q and Three Steps to Heaven) and Joshua Marcus (School of Rock and The Magic of Disney 2), as well as newcomers Lily Bywaters, Chloe Cartwright, Tom Davies, Merilee Ettia, Sophie Haigh, Rebecca Sugrue, and Nikki Tant.

A monstrous beast imprisons Belle in his enchanted castle. Can she escape with the help of her family and melt the beast’s icy heart before it’s too late? It may be a tale as old as time, but expect this one served up with plenty of fun and a sprinkling of panto magic.

Gather your loved ones, grab your tickets and be prepared to sing, shout, boo and cheer as you immerse yourself in this traditional family pantomime that will leave you spellbound.

As well as writer, Phipps-Davis is also the director. He is joined by choreographer Harri Sepple; technical director, Jai Sepple; costume designer, Steven Metcalfe; wardrobe mistress, Zoe Kotonou; and vocal captain, Merilee Ettia.

Cast: Chloe Cartwright as Belle; Tom Davies as Gassy Tom; Merilee Ettia as Fairy Lairy Mary; Chris Gannon as Olly the Wally; Joshua Marcus as Prince John/Beast; David Phipps-Davis as Dame Fanny; and Lily Bywaters, Sophie Haigh, Rebecca Sugrue and Nikki Tant as Ensemble.

This unmissable production takes place from the 9 – 13 April. Full information, times and ticket prices can be found online at www.brooksidetheatre.com.
