Elm Park Update: Two Arrests Made In Havering For Possession Of An Offensive Weapon.

Police arrest two youths in Havering in connection with the Elm Park knife attack on Saturday evening.

Police were called shortly at 9pm on Saturday, 22 March, to reports of a fight involving a group in Calbourne Avenue, Elm Park. Officers attended and engaged with a number of teenagers who became aggressive toward them.

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were taken to hospital with suspected knife wounds. Their injuries were deemed neither life changing nor life-threatening.

Four officers were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service medics, and did not require hospital treatment.

Three teenagers – a 14-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl – were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault on an emergency services worker and taken into custody. They have since been bailed, pending further enquires.

Two others – a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy – were arrested in Hornchurch the following day on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. They have also been bailed, pending further enquires.

An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
