Residents Join In Rush Green Litter Pick to Remove Over 20 Bags Of Litter And Broken Furniture.
Last Saturday 15 March, members of the Havering Residents Association for Rush Green and Crowlands carried out a litter pick in Nursery Walk which is along by the old gasworks and Crow Lane.
Over twenty bags of litter, broken and unwanted furniture and old carpets were collected. Also removed from the area were a number of gas canisters and a small bag of cannabis which was handed to the local Safer Neighbourhood officers to be safely disposed off.
During the team’s litter pick along Nursery Walk, it was noted that the area was overgrown with brambles. Councillor Graham Williamson who also took park in the litter pick alongside team members for Rush Green and Crowlands Tracey Niemierko Garry Pain and Robert O’Dea, will be looking into who owns the strip of land along the side of the old gasworks and get those responsible to clear the area as soon as possible.
It was a great team effort that included the help of HRA team members Carol and Rob Baker and local residents Paul Wayne and Finley, the area is now free of litter.
If residents have an area there concerned about that is looking neglected with litter or fly tipping please contact there local HRA team on haveringra@gmail.com
