The Great British Spring Clean Comes To Romford.

SAVE THE DATE: Join in the Great Romford Spring Clean Saturday 29 March in Romford Market from 10.45am!

The local Romford Town Wombles will be running a special spring clean session on Saturday 29th March in Romford Market for the Great British Spring Clean event- from 11am to 1pm where they will be undertaking litter picking and tidy up events to help clear up Romford and really make a difference.

This will be the team’s second year taking part in this national annual event organised by #KeepBritainTidy.

The Great British Spring Clean initiative runs from 21st March to 6th April 2025 and there are events planned all over the country involving schools, volunteer groups and businesses.
Last year the initiative saw over 425,000 bags of litter collected across the country.

A spokesman for the Romford Town Wombles told the Havering Daily: ‘”In 2024, here in Romford, we had a large turn out of volunteers and a really successful morning, litter picking around our town centre and raising awareness of the importance of keeping our streets and environment clean and tidy. It was great fun, meeting and chatting with other local residents and shoppers.’

“We are hoping to make a real impact this year, and would encourage local businesses and residents to get involved and become #LitterHeroes and Romford Town Wombles for the day.’

All equipment will be provided on the day.
