“We are fed up of watching our children being stabbed, we worry for our youth every time they go out. It really is time that us as mothers and families come together and talk about knife crime as no one else is helping us.”

Two Havering mothers who have lost their sons to knife crime are holding a special community discussion evening for everyone to attend to talk about knife crime. Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial and Peguy Kato from All Champion’s Charity are running a special talk this Friday 14 March at the Mardyke Community Centre between 6-8pm.

The evening will give the community the chance to talk to the mothers about knife crime, listen to the work they do and how you can keep your children safe. Both mothers have dedicated their lives in the battle against knife crime and have worked tirelessly with the endless organisations to help stop knife crime.

The mothers will address the community on the true horrors of knife crime and the steps families can take to keep their children safe.

Also present on the night will be Sergeant Tanner from Havering Joint Task Force, who has endless experience of policing our streets, especially across Havering.

Scott from JFF Security will also be on hand to talk about safety measures and how to keep your children safe in the community, alongside Pete from Shadow Team Preparedness who will demonstrate vital first aid skills.

The evening will be hosted by Beam Park Councillor Trevor McKeever.

Free admission and all are welcome.
