A body of a man that has washed up near Rainham yesterday afternoon is believed to be linked to a murder in Kent.

The body was found just before 4pm yesterday and is believed to be linked to what has been dubbed the ‘Valentine Day’ murder.

Police found the body after a hunt for a man who is suspected to have been involved in the shooting of 43 year old Lisa Smith who was shot outside a pub in Knockholt in Kent on February 14.

A Kent police spokesperson said: “A body has been recovered by police from the River Thames which is being linked to a murder investigation in Knockholt.”
