We will work tirelessly to track those committing these offences and bring them to justice.”

Havering police officers have been tackling robberies across the borough and have made numerous significant arrests.

Inspector Willison is leading the operation that has seen ongoing work to clamp down on robberies.

He told the Havering Daily:

“Over the last four weeks we have been working hard responding to incidents of Robbery across the Borough to detect and prevent this activity.  Our work has included working with our colleagues in investigation teams to identify suspects concerned in offences, this has led to the arrest of a number of suspects.  One of which was remanded in custody until their trial.

“We have set up an operation that has included the deployment of the Havering Joint Task Force and pan London resources to target the areas of offending and other tasked areas.  This has brought about arrests for robbery and other offences.

“We are extending the patrols of neighbourhood officers to provide a visible deterrent to this offending. We are using the Criminal Behaviour Panel to apply for orders upon conviction to prevent reoffending by the individuals.

“Safer Transport Officers are deploying to the bus network across Havering to deter offending.

“We encourage anyone with any information to come forward and report things directly to us as this assists us in targeting our patrols and can lead to arrests. Schools officers will be patrolling routes out of school after half term providing a highly visible presence to deter offending and increase public safety. Recent arrests and charges in Harold Hill has meant a reduction in offences in that area and we will work tirelessly to track those committing these offences and bring them to justice.”
