INKED Is Back! Touring Local Venues Across Havering.

INKED is back, and it’s going on a local tour to be performed in community spaces in Orchard Village, Harold Hill, Rainham, Rush Green, and Collier Row in late February to early March.
Having been performed in Cobra Monkey (now Santa Maria in Upminster) tattoo studio in Romford’s Mercury Mall two years ago by local amateur actors, this thought-provoking play is being given a fresh new interpretation.
Inked is written by Paul Dodgson, and has been directed by Lucy Pitman-Wallace to authentically weave the rich history of tattooing with personal experiences and perspectives fromtattooed people around Havering.
If you’ve ever asked yourself the big questions in life – “Why do people get tattooed?”; “What happens when people regret their decisions?”; “Can they be purely decorative, or are the best ones emotionally significant?”; “What can tattoos reveal about people’s identities?”; “Do they hurt?” – then Inked will be sure to enlighten, although I’ll warn you now, as far as I’m aware, attempts to find essential definitions of art are yet to reach anything to conclusive!
Still, this play does the next best thing, and reveals important snapshots into people’s lives, curating fascinatingly subjective answers to some of these questions from often deeply personal perspectives.
So, if you’re curious about tattoos, including what lies behind the mysteries of subculture and subversion; stereotypes, pop culture and self-expression… here’s your opportunity to comealong and have a peak.
You can catch the community tour, coming soon to all of the Havering Changing areas:
