Havering Community Safety Team Hold Proactive Crime Summit Meeting.
A special crime summit meeting was held at the Town Hall in Romford yesterday, Monday 3 February where residents had the opportunity to hear from Havering’s Community Safety Team about the ongoing hard work they are doing across the borough.
The meeting gave residents the chance to meet different partners the council works with first via a host of stalls set up and then enter the council chambers to listen to the team talk in depth about their work.
Present were numerous organisations that work closely with our council officers that include Shirley from Youth Unity, Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial, the lovely Debbie and Dave our Wennington firefighters, members of Romford Safer Neighbourhoods Team, Neighbourhood Watch representatives, Box Up Crime, and Air Network.
Community Safety Members Diane Eagen, Jane Eastaff, Chris Stannard and Chris McAvoy all spoke about the work they do daily across Havering and the variety of ways people can reach out to them.
Also mentioned was the fantastic work Council funded Havering Joint Task Force Officers do. The team led by Sergeant Ben Tanner, have an outstanding record of success.
This was a very proactive meeting that gave residents the opportunity to hear for themselves the work going on in the borough.
Well done to Jane, Diane,Chris and Chris!
