Dagenham and Rainham Labour MP, Margaret Mullane visited the Coventry University Dagenham Campus to discuss ways to open up opportunities for local people to access studies at the university.

Margaret met with senior staff at the campus based at the former Barking and Dagenham Council Civic Centre.

Margaret told the Havering Daily: “Coventry University Dagenham campus really wants to promote the university and its courses to local residents of all ages. They have developed a study model that works especially well for people returning to study, which would be great for mature learners.

They have two open days coming up in the next few months, Saturday 15 February and Saturday 12 April both from 10am – 2pm.”

The Dagenham campus runs a wide range of courses including business management and leadership, law, primary education teaching and applied biosciences.

Margaret added: “The university is doing a lot of work with local sixth forms and colleges and I would encourage those students and others to go along to the open days.

I will be following up my meeting to explore further ways that local people can benefit from the excellent resources that Coventry University has at the Dagenham campus.”

Details of the open days can be seen on the link:
