VIDEO: Havering And Essex Residents Join Forces To Say No To Moto A Planning Development That Would Destroy Hectares Of Greenbelt Land Full of Wildlife.
“We are tired and fed up with people wanting to build on our greenbelt land. Leave our greenbelt alone, leave our wildlife alone!“
Residents from across Havering and Brentwood gathered outside Brentwood Town Hall last night to fiercely object to a service station planning application.
The development would see service stations built between junctions 27 and 28 of the M25 across 45 hectares of greenbelt land that is currently full of wildlife. The impacts on our wildlife are horrendous and also for local residents who would be faced with endless lorries coming down small country lanes.
Jan Sargent and Shantel from Harold Hill Deer Aid also joined the protest. The group has formally objected to this planning application due to its vast detrimental impact on our wildlife, what little we have left.
Harold Hill Deer Aid told the Havering Daily:
“Yesterday, we joined objectors to the proposal of a new M25 Service Area along junctions 27/28.
The proposal is to develop twin sites serving both sides of the M25.
1) Hill Farm – approx 60 acres
2) Old Priors Golf Course – approx 50 acres
Both sites are extremely close to us in Havering, in fact, literally on the border with Brentwood.
As a group that cares about wildlife and the environment, we feel that this proposal will cause a massive disruption to both.
We and others attending are also concerned about the impact on local roads including the excess of traffic, the existing roads and country lanes being able to cope with the strain of large heavy construction vehicles, road safety, the environment, the landscape, biodiversity, including the extra carbon emissions.
We are already seeing and experiencing a heartbreaking detrimental impact the A12/M25 Development has had on our wildlife and environment.
In our opinion, this development can only make matters much worse.”
The planning application has now been submitted to Brentwood Council.

I assume the protestors will be happy if passing motorists stop by and ask for a cuppa and to use the loo?
Quite absurd to think people of the local population would challenge and contest this. This area has gone nothing but downhill over the years with more population moving in and you know exactly what population is moving in and it’s becoming more and more dangerous and there are so many deserted areas and crime on the rise.
This will finally change the environment for good, bring employment and security with it too. This project will be very beneficial and will have positive impact.
Don’t know how an empty uncontrolled deserted areas which these people have never been to or know what’s goes on and objecting this project.
This will improve police force and help the council too with littering fly tipping and other crimes too that this population is bringing with it. I’ve been living here for 40+ years and I believe this project for services is a very good idea with a positive impact.
