Swift Work By Hornchurch Police Officers Sees Public Order Incident On Bus Promptly Ended.
St Andrew’s PCSO was patrolling Hornchurch town centre when she was flagged down at 14:50 on Wednesday, 22 January to reports of an assault on a bus on Station Lane.
Officers attended to assist their colleague with initial information that seven people were involved in an assault. One suspect ran off and officers chased, detaining the person nearby. Another suspect remained on the bus.
Further investigation established that there had been no assault and this was a public order incident involving a passenger and the driver.
Two youths were safeguarded and escorted home by police. The bus was able to continue it’s journey and the incident has been recorded.
This incident was brought to a conclusion quickly and due to the officers prompt response, were able to reassure the driver and passengers that incidents of anti social behaviour will not be tolerated.
