“I am appalled that it is taking so long for the necessary repairs to be carried”-Andrew Rosindell MP.

Andrew Rosindell the Member of Parliament for Romford, has expressed grave concern over the persistent issues with heating and hot water at the Oldchurch Estate, which have caused significant distress and inconvenience to residents.

In a letter addressed to Mr. Craig Moule, Chief Executive of Sanctuary Group, Mr. Rosindell highlighted the ongoing disruption to heating and hot water supplies that have plagued the estate since a water leak in June. Despite numerous attempts by engineers to rectify the problems, residents have experienced repeated outages, with temporary fixes proving ineffective.

Engineers have identified that the estate’s pipe network requires flushing to remove accumulated sediment and permanently resolve the issues. However, Mr. Rosindell has noted that Sanctuary Group has yet to authorize these critical repairs.

The situation has left many residents without heating and hot water during the cold winter months, including over Christmas and New Year. This lack of essential utilities is particularly alarming for vulnerable residents, as temperatures continue to drop below freezing.

“As Romford’s MP, I am appalled that it is taking so long for the necessary repairs to be carried out” said Mr. Rosindell. “All residents of the estate deserve access to these basic utilities that they pay for, and these issues are putting their welfare at risk.”

Mr. Rosindell has requested prompt confirmation from Sanctuary Group that long-term repairs have been completed to restore reliable heating and hot water services to the estate.
