Prolific Thief Given CBO Now Handed Custodial Sentence After Breach Of Order.
Quick work by East Area officers has seen a prolific thief who is known in Havering, now handed a 16 week custodial sentence.
Local officers in Dagenham responded to notification that a person known to them was breaching their Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) on Dagenham Heathway on Thursday 28 November. Officers attended and located a 45 year old man and confirmed he was breaching his CBO as his restrictions prevent him from being in Dagenham Heathway (Barking & Dagenham) and Elm Park Broadway (Havering) due to his prolific shoplifting. He was arrested and taken to custody.
Keith Sears, 45, of Beambridge Place, Basildon was sentenced at Barkingside Magistrates Court on Friday 29 November, where he was sentenced to 16 weeks imprisonment.
Charlie Routley, Chief Inspector for Havering Neighbourhood police teams said
“The sentence handed to Mr Sears shows how effective the use of Criminal Behaviour Orders can be. We will continue to work with our partners in both Havering council and Barking and Dagenham council to proactively target and disrupt offenders, making our communities a safer place to live, work and visit”
